your Alma Mater is trying
its best to upgrade and update itself to make its
existence more relevant and effective. You will be
glad to know, since 2001 school has upgraded itself to
higher secondary. We have opened Std. XI and XII with
only Science stream. This adds about 300 students more
to our strength. Some of you may feel a bit jealous to
hear that our plus section is Co-ed. This may be a
small contribution to gender equality.
The school has gone in a big way to promote education
through use of Information Technology. At present we
have two computer labs with 30 computers each. The
senior school computers have internet facility whole
through the day. The school is experimenting on how to
expose the students to vast sea of knowledge that is
available in the internet. The school has also created
multimedia lab with lots of educational and other CD's
with a LCD Projector, a full set of TV for Video shows
and over head projector. The school is also trying to
experiment on teaching and learning of Math and
English language. English Language and Maths labs are
being developed . The school is also trying to develop
the talents of students in different disciplines of
sports, besides Football, Basketball. Indoor
Facilities are needed to develop the talents. As you
know Elocution/ Drama/ Quiz are strong forte of St.
Xavier's Doranda. The school is trying to maintain the
good tradition started by you all. You see very well
that St. Xavier's needs to build some more infra
structure to facilitate and promote an education which
focuses on all round development.
The school
badly needs the following:

A big
Auditorium with proper acoustics-sound system.

Lights
for proper light effects.

An
Indoor Stadium where Table-tennis, Badminton games
could be held.

All our
science labs have to be enlarged to accommodate more
students at a time.
-
Well
furnished rooms are needed for Computers, Maths,
Language and Multimedia.
-
A few
more class rooms (extension of the school building)
are needed to accommodate
all the subjects to be taught.
Demand Draft to be sent in favour of St. Xavier's
School. Any aid coming from abroad cheques can be made
in favour of 'Ranchi Jesuit Society'.
